Victor Vincent Schroer

Victor Vincent Schroer, age 88 of Le Center, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his home in Le Center. Visitation will be at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at 10am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be held in the Calvary Cemetery in Le Center at a later date.

Victor was born on January 22, 1929 in St. Kilian, MN. Victor was the 2nd oldest of 12 children raised by Bernard and Agnes (Diekman) Schroer. He attended country school and School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. Victor proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953. Victor was united in marriage to Kathleen Hebbelman on February 4, 1957 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Wilmont, MN. Victor worked for Interstate Power, Le Sueur County Hwy. Department, for Bud Selly as a mechanic, and later as an over the road truck driver.

Victor was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, of the DAV and the Purple Heart Assn. Victor loved visiting with family and grandchildren, enjoyed playing cards- cribbage, animals- raised horses, fishing, old time music, dancing, and gardening.

Victor is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Schroer of Le Center; children, Barbara (Sonny) Jirik of New Prague, Mark (Karen) Schroer of Le Center and Al (Deb) Schroer of Le Sueur; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alverna (Vern) Lovell of California, Carol Holm of Minnetonka, Cecilia Urcan of California, Dan (Jo) Schroer of Missouri, June (Jim) Brust of Russell, MN, Jane (Wayne) Sazama of Worthington, and Connie (Kelly) Vortherms of Worthington.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray B. Schroer; sisters, Bernadette, Shirley and Joan.

Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center Area Honor Guard.
