Vincent Francis Coffey

Vincent Francis Coffey, age 72, of SaddleBrooke, AZ (Tucson), died July 27, 2019, at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ. He had valiantly battled a series of complications following surgery in June.

Vince was born to Vincent F. Coffey and Margaret (Cody) Coffey in Jersey City, NJ, on June 2, 1947. He served in the New Jersey Army National Guard and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Johns University (formerly The College of Insurance at New York, New York) in January of 1972.

Vince pursued a very successful career in the insurance industry. He worked in Beirut, Lebanon, as an insurance underwriter for two years; lived in Chicago and was an executive for Sara Lee Corporation in the Risk Management Department for many years; and, was most recently with Novelis in Atlanta, GA, as Director of Risk Management and Insurance. Shortly before retirement from Novelis, he was honored in Mumbai, India; receiving the prestigious Aditya Birla Award for Exceptional Contributor. This was in December of 2015.

Vince married Toni Ellen (Kaisershot) of Le Center, Minnesota, and was a devoted husband. Together, they nurtured a rare relationship of mutual trust, love, and respect and were a team for nearly 40 years. Being very fond of young people, they were blessed to become godparents to five beloved children over the years. Vince and Toni traveled extensively and enjoyed a variety of activities together, continuing their educations on a wide-ranging number of topics. Vince loved to have fun, possessed an excellent sense of humor, and was an expert on music trivia with fond memories of attending Woodstock in 1969. He was an avid sports fan and relished going to the NCAA Basketball Tournaments for many years along with the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA. He was an enthusiastic fan of Chicago sports teams and tolerated the Minnesota Vikings. Vince was a Paid-Up-For-Life Member of the American Legion Post 108, Le Center, Minnesota.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Ellen Coffey of Saddlebrooke; a brother, John Coffey (Liz) of Bayonne, NJ; mother-in-law, Violet Kaisershot; sisters-in-law, Julie Agard (Dave), Marion Doheny (Dan), and Susie Soulek (Jim); along with the extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and a legion of friends. He will be greatly missed by them all.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Le Center, Minnesota, on September 7, 2019, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a lunch immediately following the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center area Veterans Honor Guard.

A "Gathering of Friends" for a celebration of life will be held at the Woodridge Park District Clubhouse in Woodridge, IL on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donors choice.
