Virginia Mae Gliszinski, 88, of Le Center, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague, on Thursday, April 4, 2019. Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, April 6 from 2pm to 5pm at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center with her nephew, Pastor Don Malinski officiating with a brief service at 2.

Virginia was born March 30, 1931 to Peter and Ida (Gentz) Sautter of Le Center. She was the 3rd of 3 children. She grew up in Le Center, and graduated from Le Center High School in 1949. She then attended nurses training. She married Stanley Gliszinski at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny on August 21, 1952, they have 3 children, David (Susan) of New Prague, Deborah (Robert) of Lakeville, and Susan (Nicholas) of Sioux Falls, S.D. She was married to Stan for 58 years prior to his death, in 2010. She is survived by their son and daughters; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Virginia was always an outspoken and gracious host to family, friends, and new acquaintances. She began her career as a nurse in Minneapolis. After her marriage, she moved to rural Le Center, and worked as a nurse for Green Giant in Montgomery. Subsequently, she worked at the Clerk of Courts office at Le Sueur County Courthouse in Le Center.

After Stan and Virginia retired, they split their time between Le Center and Weslaco, Texas, eventually moving to Weslaco full-time. Virginia served as president of the Trails End Park association in Weslaco.
