Wayne Reuben Svoboda

Wayne Reuben Svoboda, age 61, of New Prague, died Monday, December 25, at Mayo Systems New Prague. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, from 11am-1pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with memorial service following at 1pm. Interment will be at a later date in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Wayne was born on May 15, 1956, in St. Peter to Reuban Harvey and Carol Jean (Erkel) Svoboda. Wayne was a graduate of Montgomery High School. Wayne worked with his parents on the family farm and also worked at the K-Mart Distribution Center in Shakopee until it's closing. Wayne was a member of the Clear Lake Sailors 4-H Club, Montgomery FFA, Le Sueur-Scott Holstein Association, and Pioneer Power. He enjoyed snowmobiling, helping kids in 4-H, showing cattle, and working with antique tractors.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Carol Svoboda of Montgomery; sister, Ruth Hoefs (special friend, Ron Pomije) of Le Center; nieces, Jenna Lynn (John) Riley; great-nieces, Jane Riley, Jean Riley; nephews, John Thomas (special friend, Ashlynn Malecha) Hoefs; great-nephew, Matthew Riley; aunts and uncles, Lloyd C. (Peggy) Svoboda of New Prague, Wayne (Bernice) Bohnsak of Burnsville, and Floyd (Ellen) Erkel of Le Center; many cousins, other family and friends.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Rueban Svoboda; grandparents.
