William, known as Bill, lived a full life working tirelessly on the farm, serving his country, and raising a family with his wife Marilyn. Bill was born on a farm in Kilkenny Township.

He was a lifelong farmer, and put in a full day\'s work, from dawn to dusk, every day of his life. During the Korean War, Bill proudly served his country in two tours with the army, where he earned two Purple Hearts.

When Bill returned from overseas, he farmed during the day and worked as a sheet metal worker at McQuay\'s. He became acquainted with Marilyn, a secretary at McQuay\'s, and in 1958 they were married. He worked the night shift at McQuay\'s in Faribault for 38 years. Over his 56 years of marriage to Marilyn, they raised five children on the farm a mile away from where he was raised. He taught them to be honest and hard-working.

In his small amount of spare time, Bill enjoyed ice fishing, deer hunting, and playing with his ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Ashley), Andrew, Amy, Rebecca, Matthew, Kristie, Beau, Megan, Hannah and Morgan. Bill continued his military service, and was a member of the VFW, Honor Guard and American Legion.

Bill joined his brother, Eldred Miller; parents, William H. and Mary Miller; and great-grandson, Ethan Michael Scheffert, in heaven. His legacy as a hard-working farmer and veteran live on through his wife, Marilyn; children, Douglas (Sue) Miller, Brenda (Gary Schienbein, Paige, Karli and Reed) Bokman, Karen (Doug) Gjerstad, Mark Miller and Bruce (Janice) Miller; siblings, Carlton (Mary Jane) Miller, Rose Perteet, Gloria Trcka, and Robert (Barb) Miller. He will be deeply missed.

Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard.
