Yvonne Dorothea Embretson

Yvonne Dorothea Embretson, age 92, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Praha Village in New Prague. Visitation will be on Friday, August 18 from 10am-11am with funeral service following at 11am all at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery with Pastor Jason Pollington officiating. Interment will be held in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Yvonne was born on October 1, 1930 in Buffalo, MN to Walter F. and Minnie A. (Leersen) Olson. She was a graduate of Robbinsdale High School. Yvonne was united in marriage to George Spencer Embretson on August 9, 1952 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, MN. After marriage they moved to Garden City, MN until 1955 when they moved to Montgomery. She enjoyed knitting, quilting for charity, golfing, playing cards, bingo, time at the cabin fishing, hosting friends, and winters in Arizona.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Jan Schoenbauer of Washington, DC., David (Gail) Embretson of Montgomery, and Kyle (Angie) Embretson of Falls City, NE.; grandchildren, Peter (Ellen), Joseph (Jessi), Kirsten (Tony), Karleen (Joel), Kellse, Davin, Jeremy (deceased), Noah, Jacquelyn, Amy (Brady), Natalie, Audrey (Kyle); great grandchildren, Cecilia, Rose, Nico, Lionel, Taj, Finn, Gwendolyn, Aricin, Owen, Nevada, Tierra, and Eliana.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, George Embretson; her parents; son-in-law, Marty Schoenbauer.
