Richard "Dick" Bradshaw

Former Le Sueur County Surveyor Richard (Dick) Bradshaw died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Praha Village in New Prague, MN. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 10am-11am with Memorial Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11am all held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center.

Mr. Bradshaw was born October 20, 1930 in Mankato, MN to Alfred and Henrietta (Traxler) Bradshaw. He served in the artillery in Korea in 1952 and 1953 and was discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Richard married Jean Sticha in New Prague, MN on March 27, 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Le Center. He served as County Surveyor from 1958 until 2002. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as trustee for 12 years. He was also a member of the Le Center Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Community Club, Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 108 and VFW Post 1803. He also served for many years on the Le Center and Le Sueur County Planning Commissions. He belonged to Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially traveling and golfing. He was an avid gun and antique collector. Jean and Dick were especially proud of being able to leave the wooded area west of the Le Sueur County Fairgrounds to the County to be kept as a park known as Bradshaw Woods and preserved as a wildlife area and park.

Dick is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Stephen; grandson, Jeremy; brother-in-law and his wife, Jack and Pat Sticha; nieces and nephews.

Dick is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandi; grandson, Jason.
