Florence Patricia Koldin, age 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Carriage House in Le Center surrounded by family. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10 from 4pm-8pm at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 2pm at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Fr. Tom Niehaus officiating with visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale.
Florence was born on January 14, 1941 in Northfield to Wenceslaus (Jim) and Bernadine (Keilen) Malecha. She was united in marriage to Joseph Koldin on October 22, 1960 in Hazelwood, MN. She was a bookkeeper and a restaurant owner. Florence was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Montgomery. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards- Svick especially, traveling to Arizona, having weekly coffee with friends at LaNette’s, spoiling grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading and cooking and baking.
Florence is survived by her husband, Joseph Koldin of Montgomery; children, Nancy (Brian) Labs of New York Mills, Gwendolyn (Dave) Osmundson of Minnesota Lake, Kimberly (Craig Vlasak) Washa of Faribault, and Jennifer (Russ) Braith of Waterville; grandchildren, Jacob Glende, Joshua (Jenny) Glende, Melinda Labs (Chris Highness), Briar Labs, Amanda Buffington, Katrina Hruska, Molly Hruska, Dania (Chris) Helgeson, Michael (Ashlee) Osmundson, Becca Washa, Allison (Ben) Eotvos, C.J. (Kirsten) Vlasak, Kayla Vlasak (Matt Hogate), Taylor Braith, and Dillon (Kelli) Braith; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Josephine Malecha and friend Robert Fierst of Faribault, Roman (Patricia) Malecha of Sauk Centre, Randy (Kathy) Malecha of Titusville, FL., Susan (Ron) Franek of Webster, Noreen (David) Nelson of Gibbon, and Lou Anne (Tom) Rezac of Northfield.
Florence is preceded in death by son, Kevin Koldin; parents; and brother-in-law, Ellard Malecha.
